The principles of Feng Shui can be applied to your garden as well. By applying Feng Shui principles to your garden you can attract positive energy, wealth and good fortune.

Feng Shui gardening:
• The most important principles of Feng Shui in the garden are curves and proportion.
• Your house is the Yin energy and your garden is the Yang energy.
• The Yang aspect in Feng Shui is about light and space.
• As far as possible try to incorporate all the five elements of Feng Shui in your garden.

1. Use a pond, birdbath or fountain to represent the water element.
2. Use a sundial or bronze statue in the garden for metal.
3. Use trees and shrubs for wood.
4. Use plants or flowers that are red and orange in colour to represent fire.
5. Use earth to represent the earth element.

• Your garden should be in the shape of a circle or octagon.
• If you have a pond it should be circular in shape.

• Using a lot of red colour in the garden will increase and stimulate the flow of Chi.
• Using bright colours in the northeastern side of your garden will lead to the increase in children in your house.
• The path in front of your house is important. It is good if it curves gently, as the Chi will flow gently into your house.
• Horseshoe shaped drives and entrances are considered good as it aids the Chi to gently enter the house and can be directed away when depleted.
• Trees in your house should not be taller than two-thirds of your house.
• Plant colourful plants and flowers in your garden they will attract positive energy.
• Plant herbs in your garden, they will bring good health, wealth and long life.
• The garden should be kept neat and clean at all times.
